A woman who was assaulted in a Sears parking lot is suing the store for negligence.
Christine Granberry says that, on November 15, 2007, after shopping in the store on 79th Street in Chicago, she was walking toward her vehicle when she was "violently slammed into the pavement and then repeatedly kicked by an assailant attempting to steal her purse."
Granberry asserts, among other things, that the store failed to provide a security presence in the parking lot, failed to maintain working surveillance cameras in the parking lot and failed to come to her aid "or respond in any fashion" during the assault.
