Frivolous or For Real?: suits involving the Sears Tower, a Pilsen restaurant

Filed today in Cook County court...

A man is suing the Sears Tower Management Company for more than $50,000, alleging that he was injured by an automatic door at the entrance of the Sears Tower's Skydeck in July of 2007. According to the complaint, the automatic door opened and slammed the fingers on the hand of John Goertz, the plaintiff in the case.

The owners of a restaurant in Pilsen, Nuevo Leon Restaurant, are being sued by a woman who said the chips and salsa she purchased and ate in May 2008 were contaminated with salmonella. Amber Dawe is suing the restaurant and its owners, Maria Gutierrez and Daniel Gutierrez, for more than $50,000.

You decide--frivolous or for real?
