Former Stevenson High School football player sues school, teammates, coaches

A former varsity football player at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire filed suit against his old high school, four of his teammates and seven varsity football coaches, alleging he was sexually assaulted by his teammates in 1999.

The complaint accuses the four student defendants of sexually assaulting the plaintiff three times in hazing rituals that took place both in the school cafeteria and the locker room. All three incidents occurred without the supervision of the coaches, it alleges.

The details are a little graphic for this blog, but I'll just say that while reading the complaint, I learned what an "atomic sit-up" is. And that's not something I ever wanted to know.

In the suit, filed a decade after the incident, the plaintiff claims that he "now requires psychological and emotional therapy for treatment of the injuries he received." He is requesting a judgment in excess of $50,000.

Years ago (more than a decade) there was an incident at Prospect High School where a football player, a freshman if I recall correctly, got sodomized with a pickle as part of a football hazing in the locker room.
