I cover music and movies for metromix.com, with stories appearing in RedEye. Sometimes with a big smiley picture.

Chicago band The Dirty Diamonds answered our Chi-Tunes questionnaire. Do the same and your band could appear in RedEye and Metromix!

Listen: "Heaven's Plate"
What makes your live show great?

You're going to feel like a 13-year-old that got invited to their first high school party, regardless of age, race creed, color or your favorite style of music.

Describe your sound in five words or less (or more, we guess).

Everything you like from the past, mixed with house party beats, written and performed by some of the wackiest and wildest people in town: Joy, Alistair and Halley (vocals); Austin Henry (bass, production); Dr. Rash (guitar) and Mickey P (guitar, production).

Tell us something random about the band, and why that's significant.

We play "The World's Greatest" by R. Kelly at each practice, and this is significant because we love and respect Chicago R&B, Muhammad Ali and R. Kelly's personal attitudes toward life.

Who would you want to work with, and who would you never work with? Why?

We would work with Brian Eno, because he invented a sound that is still more than relevant today. We would never work with Miley Cyrus because that stuff she said about Jay Z was BOGUS.

If the band was a '90s sitcom character, who would it be and why?

We would be Bob, the villain from "Twin Peaks," because we transcend time and space and can take any vessel we choose. FIRE WALK WITH US.
