- Bangers and Lace. For these guys, it's not just a catchy name that rolls off the tongue. Bangers refers to the British (and Irish, for that matter) word for sausage while Lace points to "Brussels Lace" or the form that's left along the beer glass as the beer is consumed. With an extensive beer selection overseen by a sommelier who'll pair towards your liking, you're sure to be hungry for their hearty dish options. Let's just hope this Wicker Park watering hole holds onto its laid-back vibe.
- Arami Sushi. Now I'm generally a Coast Sushi loyalist, but this place is seriously amazing. The fish is incredibly fresh and flavorful. Plus, (I hope!) it's still BYOB for the time being. What could be better than amazing food and a bottle of wine without a 100%-200% mark-up?
- Mastros. Just what River North was missing...a steakhouse. All jokes aside, Mastro's might not be just another steak and martini place adding to the already too long list of this neighborhood. Mastro's is known for upscale, luxury and over-the-top elegance in service, presentation and cuisine. Take a chance and divert from (the place I deem one of the best) Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab for one night at Mastro's; you won't be disappointed, I promise. Bar opens at 4pm and I hear an early happy hour calling your name!
Three New Restaurants for the Weekend
Three new restaurants equals one for each night. So no more "where should we eat" whining this weekend. The decisions been made, so you're free to just enjoy! You've probably already heard of these recently opened hot spots, but have you eaten the food, read the wine list, checked out the ambiance? Time to get moving! The weekend is officially here, so treat yourself to an evening out that you're sure to enjoy.
