The Midwest Yoga Conference is pretty special to me. Not only did I have the honor of interviewing the organizer, yoga instructor Jonny Kest, it also marks the one year anniversary of Breath, Body & Balance, as it was one of the first things I wrote about for ChicagoNow!

After speaking with Jonny, he invited me to come attend the conference for a day and I was so grateful (thanks again, Jonny)! I had the opportunity to spend an amazing Sunday learning from local yoga instructors I always respected (Yogaview co-owner Quinn Kearney) and "superstar" yogis like Vinnie Marino, the "King of Yoga" in LA

The conference is back at the beautiful Indian Lakes Resort in Bloomingdale, Illinois from June 3-6. Attendees can do choose from all-day intensives, classes for teacher training credits, listen to keynote lectures or get down at a yoga/dance music concert at night. But without a doubt, the highlight of the Midwest Yoga Conference is the excellent selection of workshops. The main conference, spread out over Friday and Sunday, features three workshops a day, each three hours long with everything from vinyasa detox flow classes led by Seane Corn, a mudra intensive, yoga therapy intensives and sessions on opening the hips.

Attendance will set you back anywhere from $279 to $699, but if you're looking to have a profound effect on both your practice and your world, the Midwest Yoga Conference is a worthwhile investment.
