Fresh Fitness Looks for Fall

Your source for all things yoga and wellness in Chicago.

I've made the decision. This season I'm going to live in my yoga and workout apparel. I practically do anyway, but after seeing all the great styles, colors and fabrics from the lululemon athletica and breath, body & balance function show, I'm convinced I don't really need to wear much else.

For Blogapalooza, we decided that everyone on staff would be dressed in an outfit for a particular activity with a focus on "day to downward dog," looks that could easily go from daily life to sweaty practice with little effort.

In case you missed it, here's a peak at what we wore. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait until the next event to score a goodie bag with class passes to Core Power Yoga, Turbodog Spirit Center, Harmony Yoga, the Indigo Studio and a gift card to Argo Tea

Ali, in the Gratitude Wrap, is working the outerwear look. This versatile wrap can be worn a variety of ways. Imagine wrapping up in this to head out into the brisk fall air after hot yoga, curling up on the couch and watching a movie or pairing with your favorite jean for an everyday look.

Here's Renee the runner in the Run: Hills Pullover II. Moisture-wicking, form-fitting and chafe-resistant, the Hills Pullover has specially placed anti-odor mesh panels to keep your stank at bay during intense workouts. It gets big points for the long sleeves with thumb holes.

In the Salutation Tank and Still Pants, Rachel is sporting an all-organic look. This outfit works for yoga, pilates, dance and with a slimmer pant, group exercise classes, too.

KristyLuluHuffnPuffVest.jpg

I predict the Huff N Puff Vest, worn by Kristy in our weekend warrior look, is going to be seen all around town this fall. In fact, two of my friends bought one that night. It's warm with a soft fleece lining and water-resistant, too. I'm not a big vest person, but I do know the Feel Good Pants she's wearing are probably the most flattering and comfortable sweatpants I've ever worn.

Here's me in the Gather Racerback Tank and Gather Tights (I had to take a shot at home the next day because I didn't have any great shots of me at the event in the full outfit). Both are made of organic cotton and super comfortable. Honestly, it was love at first sight when I laid eyes on the Gather Tights. I wore them long after the event was over, on the bus ride home and I'm sitting in them right now as I type. I love the colors, adjustable skirt and the thick ribbed cotton. I wouldn't wear these to hot yoga classes, but will definitely be sporting them in pilates, vinyasa classes, to work and even out to dinner (in the right shoes).

All of these items are available at all the Lululemon Chicago locations and on their website. Special thanks to Jordan and Deanna at Margie Korshak and especially to Marcus (pictured in the top photo) for being so friendly, patient and helpful!

I'm still jealous that you got to keep the gather tights ;) I need a pair now. I'm also in love with the Gratitude wrap, and pretty much everything else I saw at Lululemon for their Fall line. I think that any sweater or hoodie with thumb holes is a necessity for our weather in Chicago.

Yes! I love any hoodie or long sleeve top with thumb holes. Anything that makes cold weather gear more comfy and cozy is definitely a necessity here.

I have two pairs of yoga pants that I've absolutely positively fallen in love with. I wore them every single time I walked in the door when I got home. Comfortable, they are!

Maya, I love your outfit! Lulu clothes are so well made -- well worth the money. I'll have to stop in and look for those tights and top. I'm trying to come on the CHEW walking tour -- sounds like fun!

Montie- I started by wearing them around the house and now I wear them almost everywhere! Yoga pants are addictive!
Remi- Thank you! I completely agree that Lulu makes the best pants. I seriously want everything in the store and I don't feel bad spending a little more because I know they'll last forever. Let me know if/when you do the CHEW tour! It's really great.
