Yoga mats have come a long way since the generic blue PVC mat. In fact, now that I'm shopping around for a new mat all of the options are a bit overwhelming, so I asked Selena Stirlen from the How to Clean Your Yoga Mat video for advice.

She tests so many different mats and materials for her line of natural home and fitness cleaning products, Stirlen Chi, that she was just bursting with helpful tips, so I asked her to help me film this video on How to Choose a Yoga Mat.
I'm still deciding between two different brands, but once I pick a winner, I'll be sure to blog all about it.

I love the Black Mat from Manduka. It's long and thickly padded for my bony body

Suggestion: cliff-notes to go along with the video for those that don't have the time or audiovisual equipment (i.e. mobile users, people at --ahem-- work, etc.) when checking out this post.

Hey Anna-
Yes! I've only heard great things about the Manduka! Do you leave yours at the studio or take it with you? It's a lil' heavy for me to cart around town.
Shari-
Thank you so much for the suggestion! I just went in and added links for all the products mentioned. I will definitely be posting more on choosing a proper mat and will be sure to add in helpful notes for those that can't watch the video.
Have a great day!
