The Chicago Blackhawks parted ways with winger Martin Havlat Thursday after signing star winger Marian Hossa Wednesday. Active on Twitter, Havlat tweeted his reaction to leaving Chicago.

Will never forget your generousity and the great playoff run! martinhavlat Excited to be in Minny where I was welcomed and appreciated by management. The real story about what happened in Chicago to come out. martinhavlat Hossa is a good friend and I am happy for him.
The tweet that stirred controversy was the one that included, "where I was welcomed and appreciated by management" and "the real story about what happened in Chicago will come out."
As for the "real story," according to Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon, "We were unable to get a deal done with Marty, basically what it boiled down to was the length of the deal."
Havlat's agent Allan Walsh added these thoughts on his Twitter account:
