Bears fans, it's time to get serious

Adewale Ogunleye

I play defensive end for the Chicago Bears.

E-mail me at adewaleogunleye93@yahoo.com. I will be answering your questions about the Bears and life in the NFL every week on my blog.

Can't believe training camp is upon us. Maybe I should believe it. I haven't played a real game in a long time.

It feels as if I have been running, lifting, stretching, dieting and studying for the 2009 season since we lost to the Houston Texans on Dec 28, 2008.

This off season I had my fun. I traveled to Nigeria, to The Caribbean, to Europe and all over the United States. Wherever I went, my mind was never away from football. Never away from this Bears team.

I attended every OTA, every workout and every practice. I cut out any event or meeting that would take me away from my workouts.I see the Elephant in the room. 2009 has to be a great year for the Bears for too many reason to mention.

What a special bunch of guys I play with. I enjoyed my time away from the guys working out on my own, all the while knowing all of my teammates are doing the same thing wherever they were. Even though separate, all working for one goal. Super Bowl.

So Training Camp is it fun? Absolutely not. But it's a necessity. We use it as a tool to get us on our way to winning the SUPER BOWL!!!
