Major League Baseball All-Star Mugshot Gallery
Tomorrow is the 81st Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. While the Midsummer Classic doesn't bring on the orgy of commercialism and wagering that the Superbowl does, it' still a big event. And anytime I think of professional athletes, I think of professional athletes getting arrested. When I set out to put together my roster of 25 major league arrestees, I was stymied. Pro football players seem to get arrested at a higher rate than baseball...

Glad you cleared that up....I thought only Black Athletes got in trouble. :)

How come the photos on the chicagonow website are so low resolution? Other sites don't have this issue.

Stu, I have no idea. I just blog here. I'll pass along your comment.

Too bad Jungle Jim Rivera never made the All-Star team. He deserved it--and he had some off-the-field adventures that fit in here. Last I heard, he was still alive, and about 88 years old.

I'll add Ferris Fain and La Marr Hoyt, who served drug time. And don't forget Mount Carmel High School's own Denny McLain!

You also left out Billy Koch. In July 2009 he was arrested in North Port Florida for criminal mischief of more than $1000 and battery after getting into an altercation with a neighbor.

Thanks for the tip Pat! He had a decent mugshot, too. For what it's worth, there are a few I left out, mostly because I couldn't find a good picture: Marcus Giles, Dwight Smith, Chris Speier, Gerald Laird to name a few.
