Why am I doing this? Certainly not for my looks, I'll tell you that, because I've already been told by a coworker that I looked like a penis with ears when I did this last year. For the past week my bride has been in the habit of grabbing me by the hair as she walks by, staring at me, and shaking her head "no" while she gives me that "good lord why are you doing this" look that I've seen so many times in my life, the look that hovers somewhere between pity, affection and disapproval, before she releases and walks away. No, I'm doing this to raise money for a worthy cause, and I have no other way to raise money than by performing a stunt.
St. Baldrick's Foundation funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any other organization except the United States government. 74.5% of the money they raise goes to research grants, 21.8% goes to fundraising, and only 3.7% goes to administrative costs. That's pretty good. In 2009, these Chicagoland institutions received grants from St. Baldrick's:
- John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County, Chicago, IL
- Northwestern University, Chicago Campus, Chicago, IL
- Rush Medical Center, Chicago, IL
- University of Chicago, Chicago, IL
- University of Illinois at Chicago, Chicago, IL
I know times are hard, but if you can spare a few bucks, please do. You can visit my fund raising page here. Thanks!

You got em man. In the fishing business, I wear a baseball hat most all the time. Regardless, I couldn't get my mop chopped nor could I shave my mustached. Just can't do it.
Good luck and thumbs up to you for going through with it.
