Kevin T. Singer is a sad gamer. The lifelong Dungeons and Dragons fan, and convicted murderer, just lost his lawsuit against the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Prison officials had banned all Dungeons and Dragons materials in 2004, cruelly snatching away Singer's chance to finally become a Level Ten Halfling. Perhaps the warden was concerned that Singer, serving a life sentence for bludgeoning a man to death with a sledgehammer, would try and use some of his D&D manuals to fashion...

Once <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,351896,00.html">filed a lawsuit against the makers of Grand Theft Auto</a>, claiming that he faced "imminent danger from violent inmates who played Grand Theft Auto who will knock me out and take my gold Jesus cross."
(Bill Alkofer) On death row in California, convicted of 16 murders. <a href="http://www.heartland.org/custom/semod_policybot/pdf/23681.pdf">Sued an author who wrote about him for $62 million.</a> The case was dismissed, but it cost the author $50,000 in legal fees to defend himself.
Serving 20 years for arson, sued because the state of Indiana would not give him Rogaine for his thinning hair. <a href="http://wthr.images.worldnow.com/images/incoming/pdfs/friv1.pdf">Wrote a letter to the Attorney General</a> in which he said "HA HA! I'm costing the DOC and tax payers all kinds of money! You guys wanna keep me in prison? Fine! .... I'm gonna make sure that I'm a costly prisoner ... and by the time this 20 years adds up and is over with, I'm gonna cost all of you THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars! HA HA! There's nothing that you can do."
<a href="http://www.wthr.com/global/Story.asp?s=5119003">Sued the state of Indiana 114 times in 8 years</a> He claims that because the state won't let him have porn in his cell he's been caused "pain, suffering, humiliation, mental anguish, emotional distress and financial loss". He's also sued for the right to remain naked in his cell.
(Pueblo County S.O.) <a href="http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-jailescape13jan13,1,1452469.story">Sued Pueblo County, CO</a> after he fell and injured himself during an escape. His lawsuit blames the jail for making it too easy to escape.
Serving a life sentence for murder, <a href="http://www.madisonrecord.com/news/188486-year-in-review-prisoner-lawsuits-beg-attention">sued the IDOC for forcibly shaving off his dreadlocks</a>. Judging from his IDOC photo, his dreads seem to have recovered somewhat.
Serving a 10-year sentence for aggravated battery with a firearm, <a href="http://www.google.com">he sued the IDOC for $800,000</a> for depriving him of his right to a vegetarian diet.
Serving a 28-year sentence for sexual assault, <a href="http://www.madisonrecord.com/news/179068-serving-time-for-sexual-assault-inmate-declares-hunger-strike-over-prison-conditions">sued the IDOC for $800,000</a> for not making prison "a safer environment for him".
Also known as "the Austin Rapist", serving a combined 100-year sentence for aggravated criminal sexual assault & armed robbery. <a href="http://www.madisonrecord.com/news/176001-prisoner-seeks-12-million-for-effects-of-second-hand-smoke">He sued the IDOC for $12 million</a> for suffering the effects of second hand smoke.
Serving a 25-year sentence for home invasion, the African Hebrew Israelite <a href="http://www.madisonrecord.com/news/187145-african-hebrew-israelite-inmate-claims-religious-freedom-being-violated">sued the IDOC for $1 million</a> for religious discrimination, including complaints about diet and receiving an immunization on the Sabbath.
Serving a 20-year sentence for 2nd Degree Murder, <a href="http://www.madisonrecord.com/news/180707-cell-lacks-emergency-button-prisoner-claims-in-suit">sued the IDOC for $57,000</a>. He claimed his civil rights were violated because there was no "emergency button" in his cell.
Serving a 42-year sentence for predatory criminal sexual assault and child pornography, <a href="http://www.madisonrecord.com/news/213544-prisoner-wants-compensation-for-having-to-sleep-near-toilet">sued the IDOC for $300,000</a> because he objected to having to sleep close to a toilet.
