Arresting Tales

You have the right to remain glazed

That's a slogan on one of the t-shirts for sale at Cops & Doughnuts in Clare, Michigan.

When the 113-year-old Clare City Bakery was about to go out of business, a group of 9 officers from the Clare Police Department stepped in, jokes be damned, and bought the business.  While the police own the business, the store will be staffed by local students.  Had the bakery closed, it would have been the 6th empty storefront in Clare's 3-block-long downtown.  Sounds like community policing at its most delicious.

Remember, they're not just doughnuts--I like to refer to them as "power rings".

Speaking of doughnuts, I just had this video emailed to me.  The email bore the sensational headline "OFFICERS CAUGHT FIGHTING ON CAMERA".  Take a look and see if you think anyone's getting indicted over this:

Ha, that video is great. I had no idea what was going on until the end. Nice.

That was a wonderful video. For a moment there, I thought one of the guys was going for the dreaded eye-poke!
