One of the most difficult parts of online dating can be planning the first meeting. Sometimes it seems like a guy might want more of a chat buddy than an actual date. And you end up chatting for weeks and weeks before meeting, if you even meet at all. Picking a spot to meet can be even more difficult.
How to meet other singles Archives
A little over a week ago I wrote a little advice for a reader who was curious to know if a guy was into her. Well, that same reader wrote again to ask my opinion on something else she is curious about - is online dating really worth it?
It seems as though she's had her fair share of bad dates and failed relationships with guys she has met off the internet. There was even a guy who told her that he felt there could always be someone more interesting to meet since there are so many potentials online. So even though he might meet a really awesome woman, he still feels tempted to respond when other women contact him.
It seems as though she is feeling a little beat up and wonders if there is a purpose to this whole online dating thing or if she should just give up.
Most people need to do a little shopping during the holidays. A lot of people wouldn't mind having someone to do that shopping with. And many singles wouldn't mind spending an evening meeting (and flirting with) new people. Well, the awesome news is that I just found out about an event that combines all of the above.
The anniversary for my blog was a couple of days ago which is a really exciting thing for me (don't worry I will post more about that later). So to thank all of my awesome readers I have another really fun giveaway.
FlipMe is a new and exciting way to date/meet people. In fact, when the people over at FlipMe contacted me to tell me about their service, I was extremely excited. As an avid internet dater, it's fun to mix things up a little sometime. After all, you can't put all your eggs in one basket, right?
I mentioned a few weeks ago about my plan to start a new feature on my blog. Just as a little refresher, the idea was to go to some of the awesome bars in Chicago to check out the mingling potential. Well, last Friday the fun began and I'd like to say it was a pretty interesting time. Check out the recap.

Last night, I went to the Single in the City event at the Whole Foods in Lincoln Park. They provided a few samplings of some yummy foods from Whole Foods (including some sort of mango salsa that I might be a bigger fan of than I thought). There was also samples of some pretty tasty cocktails which is always awesome in by book. And of course there were goody bags and a raffle for prizes.
The Whole Foods in Lincoln Park is pretty well-known as a really fantastic place to meet singles in Chicago. Given that fact and the huge success of the singles event at the Gold Coast location, Whole Foods has decided to host a Single in the City Event at the Lincoln Park location.
Here are all the details - come on out and meet someone new.
When: Thursday, June 3 from 630pm-830pm
Where: Whole Foods Lincoln Park (1550 N. Kingsbury Street)
There will be specialty cocktails, a photo booth, interactive ice breakers, Cubs ticket and spa package giveaways and more. And as an added bonus there is also an after party at Sully's which is right down the street. The event is free, but please RSVP here.

I have to say that he is completely right here, fellas. In fact, I would say that, as a woman, I don't find anything even remotely flattering about a man who does this. If you are a woman who thinks this kind of behavior is flattering you seriously need to check your standards on how you feel a guy should treat you.
Well, the All The Single Ladies and Sex and the Windy City event was this past Saturday and I have to say it was a blast. Everyone drank, played games and mingled.
Thank you to everyone who came out to the event and to everyone who helped make the event possible.
And, of course, thank you again to all of our fantastic sponsors.

With all the single people there are in Chicago, should meeting a guy or girl be that hard?
Well, apparently...it is!

You've heard of the typical dating sites like Match, Chemistry and OKCupid. Well, did you know that there are a ton of sites out there that are set up to connect people with other people who share a specific interest/background? And I am not just talking about religious or ethnicity here.
The other day, I stumbled upon a crazy internet dating site which made me a little curious. Anyone who knows me is well aware that I am a researcher at heart so, of course, I started looking around and found quite a few sites that I had never even heard of. Who knew there were so many?
So here you have it, 25 internet dating sites I never knew existed.
