What would you say to someone who was considering trying Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating?
What motivated you to want to be a part of the Seattle Sutton Slimdown 2010?
"Well, for years I had heard of Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating and I always wanted to use the program but it really wasn't affordable to me at the time with two kids, but when I saw the ad in the newspaper it was like, WOW! A lightbulb went off - this is my TIME it was just like a dream come true, I'm gonna give it a shot, I know it's a long shot but I'm going to submit my application."
Describe how you felt when you were told you were chosen as a contestant for the 2010 Slimdown Contest.
"Oh my goodness I was ecstatic, my youngest daughter was here from school and we starting screaming... it was a great feeling. I was ecstatic."
You were very successful with dieting on your own in the past, but how has the structure of Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating helped you move closer to your goal weight?
"Well, I think that the portion control has helped - the food is so flavorful and so tasty! Other diets you get food and your like ugh, you eat to sustain yourself - you get bored and lose interest, but with Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating the food is SO good and SO tasty - it's full of flavor, it's delicious! I look forward to my meals not to sustain myself but I actually look forward to the MEALS. I make each one an enjoyable meal, and it's filling that way. I dress it up, put it on a pretty plate... I make it look like I'm at a restaurant. That really helps me... I get bored easily, but with this everything is different! It makes it so interesting and I really look forward to my meals."
What surprises you most about Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating?
"That it's filling. The food is good, I was thinking is this going to be enough? But it is! Sometimes I think its more than enough, I don't feel hungry, I haven't felt hungry at all."
What meal have you enjoyed most so far on Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating?
"I really like the stuffed pepper! That was great, the flatbread pizza I enjoyed, that was great too."
What part of being on the plan has proven to be the toughest for you?
"Hmmmm that's a difficult question... probably making sure I can pick up my meals from 3-7." (Denise laughs)
How have you incorporated exercise into your daily routine since you began the program?
"I do stretches and walking and some dancing - I shake everything I got! Its fun and I get a workout. I feel energized, I have noticed I have more energy. It's a great feeling!"
What are you looking forward to most after taking off some of the weight?
"Cleaning out my closet and getting rid of old big clothes and hopefully getting myself some skinny clothes, I hope to get a pair of skinny jeans!"
Have you adopted any techniques you would like to share with your fellow contestants or others on Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating?
"Never give up on your dreams. Dreams do come true and as long as you are patient and determined and passionate about wanting something you can do it. Anybody can do it.
What would you say to someone who was considering trying Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating?
"GO. FOR. IT. Absolutely. It is so convenient it is so easy, delicious... it's like I know I'm on the plan but I don't feel like I'm on a diet. I've been on many diets, I know that "diet feeling".
"People ask are you on a diet? No, I'm not on a diet, this is a lifestyle... this is a eating program to help ME eat better. This isn't a diet this is a living plan. I'm pleased as punch! I have no complaints."
