5 Places to Visit in Seattle

I recently visited Seattle, mainly for work, but I was also able to enjoy the city and of course the food! Below is a list of a few places that I recommend for your next visit to Seattle! I was lucky to travel in the month of August when the sun is shining in this beautiful city, but no matter when you visit, each of these recommendations are going to satisfy your palette!

Matt's in the Market: Serving Pacific Northwest cuisine, seasonal specials & extensive wine options, Matt's is the perfect place to go for lunch. Located in Pike Place Market, with views of Elliott's Bay,  Matt's offers a casual vibe with one of the best fishwiches in town. Pay attention to the specials board, make reservations (it gets busy) and don't be afraid to chat with your neighbor.

Westward: In the most perfect location, Westward overlooks Lake Union, the Space Needle and the city skyline. Serving a mixture of Mediterranean and Northwest fare, a playful wine list fresh cocktails, and not to mention a gorgeous view, it is an absolute must. If you don't have time to eat, just enjoying a glass of rose on one of the many adirondack chairs on the beach will suffice.

The Nest: If you are looking for a rooftop bar with a truly exceptional view, The Nest, located in The Thompson Hotel, will certainly fit the bill. If you find yourself here, sipping on your favorite cocktail, you will surely lose track of time and get lost in the views. It is wildly popular, so be sure to go early, a line will begin early evening.

Ray's Boathouse: If you are into old school establishments and eating with a view is your jam, Ray's is perfect. Overlooking Shilshole Bay and serving an array of seafood, Ray's is a great place to dine and watch the sunset. I recommend eating on the second floor, where is it more casual, and sitting out of the deck. They have blankets if you get cold, it is simply wonderful!

The Pink Door: An Italian restaurant with burlesque shows and entertainment frequently, Pink Door is swanky, fun and delicious. It is just steps up the hill from Pike Place Market and serves outstanding Italian cuisine. Reservations can be hard to come by so try and book early; it's available for lunch too.
