Today I'm looking for a little additional comfort and reassurance, and I'm turning to a rather unlikely source: Winnie the Pooh.
Actually, I'm turning to the author of the stories featuring Winnie the Pooh, A.A. Milne. Milne was born on January 18, 1882 and to honor him and the character he brought to life, Winnie the Pooh Day is celebrated every January 18th. I find that Milne's gentle and soulful words from the book Winnie-the-Pooh, published in 1926, help me remember what's important.
Here are some of my favorite quotes from Winnie-the-Pooh:
“Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude."
"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think," said Christopher Robin to Pooh.
“A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey left inside.”
Piglet: “How do you spell love?”
Pooh: “You don’t spell it, you feel it.”
“The things that make me different are the things that make me.”
“We'll be Friends Forever, won't we, Pooh?' asked Piglet.
Even longer,' Pooh answered.”
“Any day spent with you is my favorite day. So today is my new favorite day.”
If you have a favorite quote by A.A. Milne that I didn't include here, please leave it in the comments.
