They're singing Go Cubs Go: Favorite performances for the World Series champions

For readers who are not fan of the Chicago Cubs, I promise we'll be back to our regularly scheduled parenting programming  after this, but the City of Chicago is still basking the glow of the Cubs victory, and I couldn't resist one more post about that. In my defense, this does include some tweens and teens as well as the cast of Hamilton, so there's a little something for everyone even if you don't love the team from the North Side.

Steve Goodman wrote the song "Go Cubs Go" before the 1984 season and it has been the team's anthem ever since. Strains of the chorus have echoed around Chicago all during the playoffs and have been essentially nonstop since the Cubs won the World Series.

Here are some favorite performances of "Go Cubs Go" celebrating the Cubs ending the 108 year  drought and winning it all.Even if you're not  a Cubs fan, you can mistake the joy in these renditions.

As you can tell, this is a really happy city right now!

Here are the lyrics to "Go Cubs Go":
Baseball season's underway
Well you better get ready for a brand new day
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today

They're singing
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today

Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today

They got the power, they got the speed
To be the best in the National League
Well this is the year and the Cubs are real
So come on down to Wrigley Field

We're singing now
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today

Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.

Baseball time is here again
You can catch it all on WGN
So stamp your feet and clap your hands
Chicago Cubs
