Songs for parents of teens and tweens

"Pick a song (or songs) that has special meaning to you and explain why."

That's the topic for tonight's blogapalooza here at ChicagoNow. A few months ago, I compiled songs about hopes and dreams for children as they grow up in a post, and that sparked a discussion on the Between Us Parents Facebook page.

Tonight's Blogapalooza is the perfect opportunity to share a some of the wonderful songs that others parents said have special meaning to them, as well as a few of ones that are near and dear to my heart that didn't make it into that prior post.

As Anne LaMott said, "There really are places in the heart you don't even know exist until you love a child." These songs explore those parts of the heart.

What are your favorite songs as a parent?
