Top 14 Tween Us posts of 2014

As the year comes to a close, it's always good to reflect on the past 52 weeks, and it was fun to look at what's been popular on Tween Us over the past year. This little blog had a big year in 2014!

Of the 194 posts published on Tween Us in 2014 (not counting this post), here are the 14 posts that have been read by the largest number of people, in order from the 14th most popular post to the number 1 post.

Drumroll, please!

14. 9 things you can do now to prepare for a trip to Disney World or Disneyland

13. Why making the bed matters, according to a former Navy SEAL Commander

12. Cold weather science projects to make your kids' snow day educational and fun

And the most read post on Tween Us in the past year was ....

1. Thank you, Shaun White, for not medaling in the Olympics

That last one was a bit of a run away, taking the top post by more than 700,000 page views. I'm still not exactly sure how or why it went viral, but I think it has something to do with the fact that while we love winners, we also love people with character who can lose graciously, too, and that the effort sometimes matters so much more than the outcome.

If I had to pick my favorite post of the year, I think it would be 7 lessons I learned on the Banana Taxi (which is not a euphemism).

However, both 5 ways using Facebook is like parenting and Do's and don'ts of chaperoning a middle school field trip have a special place in my heart, too.

Thank you so much for reading in 2014 and making the Tween Us community a fabulous place. I'm grateful for you and look forward to more parenting and blogging adventures in 2015! May it be your best year yet!
