I found peace and serenity at St. Peter's in the Loop

On a cold, wintery January morning, I boarded the bus and then the 'L" and headed downtown where I found peace and serenity at St. Peter's in the Loop.  I haven't been to this church in quite a while.

When I first converted, I would go to St. Peter's during my lunch hour.  I would sit in the pew and watch the Mass and the faithful who participated in it.  I was overwhelmed and on fire with my new faith all at the same time.  What was I getting into?

Despite it's location in the busy Loop area of Chicago, once inside, there's a peace and serenity that's hard to describe.  The world truly stays outside when the door closes and the presence of God can be felt in every corner.

St. Peter's in the Loop offers daily Masses, confession, lectures and a a small, but packed gift shop.  Their website, stpetersloop.org has specific information.

Please join me and other Catholics (and some not-so-Catholics!) on my Facebook page and on Twitter.

I also write for Catholic365.com on occasion, and CatholicMom.com every 4th Thursday of the month so take a moment and check them out.
