Who is your John the Baptist? Who called you out of the desert and into faith? Even if you are a cradle Catholic, was there someone in your life that influenced you so much, you were called to a deeper understanding of what being Catholic is?
I started thinking about this when our Pastor asked that question of all of us at Mass not too long ago. But it doesn't stop at the first call to faith does it? As we grow in faith, we should be surrounding ourselves with others who are calling us out of the desert especially during this Lenten season.
Since I read a lot, I have found some great authors who have lighted the path that I've chosen and have helped me when the darkness and the desert seemed endless. Here are just a few of the writers who inspire me:
Now that you've surrounded yourself with good friends and authors, how do you handle the people in your life that are not, shall we say, supportive of our faith?
I gave them up for Lent. ;-)
