Good Shepherd Sunday: Finding Consolation in His Voice

On this Good Shepherd Sunday, we hear our risen Lord console us, "My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me." John 10:27-3.  My daughter and I have always found consolation in that phrase especially when her dad, (my husband) sings it.

During Thursday's rainstorms we were spared the flooding that many of my friends and neighbors experienced.  We really did feel blessed.

With everything that has happened this week (and this and this) the volume of life is off the charts.  It's hard to focus and hear His voice above the din of the news.

Now that the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings has been captured, the volume will be turned down ever so slightly.

Don't let the noise of the world keep you from hearing the voice of the Lord.

You can listen to Scott Hahn's reflection on today's readings here and hopefully find some consolation.

I hope you enjoyed my husband's singing!  I always do!  (Video is in the link "My sheep hear my voice ... "  And, yes that's me in the middle with our good friend Karen on the right.)
