When I was pregnant with our daughter, we were going through a lot of stress as a family. My husband's mother was quite ill and our parish life was falling apart.
This was our third child, and though I was healthy, I was still worried about our daughter. In my desperation, whenever I went to communion, I offered it up for her. At the time, I could think of nothing else to do.
As it turned out, it was the best gift I could have given her. Girls her age usually don't attend church, but she does faithfully. She is the defender of the faith in our family and I always tell her that she's the one who should be writing this blog!
Today let's pray for all women: the little girls in their mother's womb, the toddlers, the pre-teens, the teenagers, the twenty-somethings and beyond, that they follow Mary's example by saying, "Yes," to God.
