If You Wish to be Perfect

If you wish to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.  Then come, follow me. - Matthew 19:21

Well, I don't want to be THAT perfect, and our Lord was not talking about following Him on Twitter, either.  *Sigh*

But seriously, I know too well, what this particular scripture means.  God knows I love my stuff, and well, sometimes it not only gets in the way physically, but spiritually as well.

Mother Angelica used to talk about a "spiritual bank" and making deposits toward heaven.  As usual, Mother is right.  Sometimes our stuff and the outside world get in the way of what we should be striving for, and that's heaven!

So, I'm going to try and get rid of some of my stuff even though the very thought of it makes me cringe.  It's going to be a lot of work and I'm a tad lazy.

Oh dear, something else I have to work on!
