The Lord Works in Mysterious Ways

Yes He does.

Recently I went on a job interview.  The only reason I did was because the job was within walking distance of my house.  It was a multi-purpose opportunity.  I could get my exercise in and use my big, bad SUV a lot less.

The phone interview went well and I got the second face-to-face interview.  THAT went very well.  The interviewer told me we had many of the same views on dealing with customers and business in general.  He actually said, "I like you."  Wow!  Really?

I thought the third interview went well, too, but I never got a call back.  I was disappointed, but I was trying to follow God's plan for me.  After psyching myself up to leave my current job, I re-psyched myself into staying.

And then the strangest thing happened.  Had I left my current position, I wouldn't even have known about it.

We have a lot of "managers," but one of the bigger heads (most of the managers call her "Princess") had gotten hurt on the job and was on leave.  The company was disputing what happened and now lawyers are involved.  I felt bad for this long-time employee who didn't deserve to be treated this way.  Even if she didn't treat me very well.

It started when she first came to us as a transfer.  My phone wasn't working and I was trying to get her to help me with something.  I could hear her, she couldn't hear me.  I was yelling into the phone (which didn't work) when I heard her say, "She doesn't know what she's doing!" and slammed the receiver down in my ear.

Unfortunately, after that, I always felt stupid around her and in my yearly review she would indicate that I didn't know my job.  I stopped asking her questions about anything and went to someone else when I need help.

We finally got news that she will be replaced.  One of the other managers (who is currently doing her own job and the job of our head manager) was lamenting the fact that apparently our newly disabled manger, wasn't doing her job.  For some reason, I wasn't surprised.

And then the grapevine picked up the news about the new manager.  The Lord does work in mysterious ways.  You see they are bringing back the previous manager.  The one who  hired me.  The one who liked me.  The one who thought I was the best thing since sliced bread.  Yep, that one!

I thought the gates of heaven had opened up!  When I saw our new/old manager, I hugged her and blurted out, "There IS a God!"  Everyone around us started laughing!

Every time I think about it, I just automatically start smiling.

Yep, the Lord works in mysterious ways!
