Did you ever have a seemingly perfect day? A day where just everything falls into place? A day that has YOUR name on it?
As I'm writing this, I'm having that day. I got up really early (before six!) and, as is my custom, I got my coffee and headed for my laptop. After my email, I headed for my Facebook
page and checked my news feed. There were some great morning prayers on there. Thoughtful and delightful! I'm already in a good mood!
Morning Offering: O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all my relatives and friends, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father. Amen.
For some reason, I went back to my email (maybe to send one, I'm not sure) and there was an email from Pandora
. If you're not familiar with Pandora, they make jewelry. Lovely jewelry!
In my email is a survey from Pandora and if I complete the survey I get a free bracelet with a retail value of $95! S W E E T !
I happily complete the survey, check the date, and I eagerly await my bracelet that should arrive in 4-6 weeks. <sigh>
Now I head for the grocery store (no car, so I walk there and back) in record time, so it seems, to make a phone call.
A friend of mine and I were going to go see Michael Miles
at Old Town School of Folk Music
on Friday, but sadly, due to a death in her family, my friend can't go. It just so happened I was speaking to a customer of mine at work a few days before and she is an admirer of Mr. Miles. I knew that her children went to school with kids I know, so I called that mom and got my customer's phone number. My customer was thrilled and eagerly accepted. Instant Girls Night Out!
All this happened before 1 PM.
So what does this have to do with being Catholic? Happiness. Jewelry makes me happy. Wonderful musicians who make wonderful music make me happy. Going out with a new friend and sharing that music makes me happy.
My faith makes me happy because when I have one of "those" days that seems to have my name on it, I'm going to look back on today and smile. God knows me very, very well.
And that makes me happy, too!
