To me, going shopping any time after Thanksgiving is a nightmare, Black Friday being the worst. It is bad enough that we have to fight our way through toy stores in a desperate attempt to find the perfect gifts for the kids we love, but when shopping for the young women in our lives we often find ourselves caught in a retail free-for-all that quickly turns into swarms of ravenous shoppers competing to the death for marked-down designer clothing. It's scary. People have actually gotten injured & killed in the name of seeking savings, you never know when the next stampede or riot is going to break out. So yeah...I'll be staying home on Black Friday.
Why do I feel so confident about missing out on epic Black Friday deals? Well... I'm normally a hater and refuse to share the places where I shop, however in the spirit of the holiday season I'll tell you. A few days ago a friend of mine sent me a link to a pair of neon purple booties that were marked down 40% (he knows my taste so well!) The link took me to some site called DivaMall.tv, and after I QUICKLY bought the neon purple booties I started shopping around to see if I could find anything else worth spending my hard earned money on...and what I found was a Christmas present goldmine.
Basically, DivaMall is this new site that takes 15 of the most famous female entertainers, finds pictures of them in awesome outfits (most of them are outfits that anybody could wear,) and they recreate the look so that you can buy it affordably. And not just for Black Friday's Christmas shoppers, but everyday. What makes it different from other find-the-look-for-less sites is the fact that they give you several options to recreate each celeb look, and in some cases you can buy the EXACT SAME ITEM the celeb is wearing. For example, one of their "Divas" is Lea Michele from Glee. They have an image of her in a black dress that is sheer around the shoulders. What Gleek girl wouldn't wanna get the same dress owned by Lea for Christmas? In addition to the actual dress Lea is wearing, they have several options for similar dresses in different price ranges. They are recreating looks from things celebs are wearing right now, like the ensemble Taylor Swift wore at the American Music Awards. They even have looks worn by Rihanna just last week!
If there is a young woman in your life who loves Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Keri Hilson, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Scherzinger, Gwen Stefani, Miley Cyrus, Shakira, Alicia Keys, Brittany Spears, or Fergie, then it is a safe bet that they like that celeb's style, too. So buying them a Christmas gift from DivaMall.tv pretty much insures you won't spend your hard earned money just to end up with her staring at the gift you gave her with a stank look on her face. DivaMall is assembling these looks from items on some really cool sites that I already like to shop on, and most of these sites have their own post-Thanksgiving sales going on for Christmas shoppers. That means I can STILL save money while staying home on Black Friday and recovering from my Thanksgiving food coma. And you can, too! Visit DivaMall.tv or check out their Facebook page for more info.
And for the record, I'm totally not being paid to endorse this site. But you'd better believe I am gonna send them the link to this blog so that they'll know I did a write up about them. Maybe it will result in me getting some discounts or something! Why not? It's not unethical. All is fair in love & shopping :o)
