I am so ready to just get on with this damn road trip. Nate is in town and we are handling all the little odds and ends that need to be taken care of before we get going. We were supposed to be leaving this weekend...emphasis on SUPPOSED TO BE. But things have gotten a bit hectic since the title track of my EP placed on Jersey Shore. Video shoots and press and performances have to be scheduled, meetings have to be taken, licensing opportunities are popping up, and a bunch of other stuff that is pretty cool...BUT I AM SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE ROAD ALREADY!
Stuff keeps popping up that has to be handled, and as a result the trip got pushed back when my album release did. My EP will now be releasing on my bandcamp page on September 15 and my road trip won't start until September 3rd. That seems sooooo far from now. Bummer, right? I was pissed when I found out. So I kinda, sorta punched a hole in my bedroom wall in a fit of rage while simultaneously yelling "FUUUUUCCCCCCCCCK" at the top of my lungs. And if you are wondering if that helped me fell better...yes. Yes it did.
Here are the new dates for our road trip. THESE ARE FINAL. If you are in one of these cities hit up our Facebook forum and let us know where you think we should all meet up and hang out and be foolish.
I haven't started packing yet (how the hell do you pack for a month long road trip? Honestly, my plan was just to stuff my suitcase until it could barely be zipped.) I was just looking forward to meeting new people and doing cool shit. Nate is in town now, and I had to explain to him why he has to pay for another week of hotels. He was super cool about it but I feel uber bad, because I know he is stoked to get on the road. So now I'm wondering am I supposed to offer to pay half for his room, or just buy him a pricey dinner some place snazzy, or what?
I also don't know what I am supposed to be taking Nate to do while we are here. That aspect of this whole thing really factored into my spontaneous attack on my wall. Of course we are filming the stuff we are doing leading up to the trip, but in terms of fun stuff to do around town, I have no idea where to take some guy who came to town thinking he was only gonna be here for 4 days. I recently found out Nate likes to see live rock shows, so we have that in common. We're hanging out with my bass player Matt Longbons tonight, and we'll probably catch a show or two at The Double Door this week, so if you know of any great bands that will be playing LET ME KNOW!
Check out the first vid about our Chicago experiences that Nate posted below. And make sure you subscribe to Youtube.com/NatesVlogs so that you can keep up with our future antics. Meanwhile, I am going to buy a book on anger management and try to patch things up with my wall. Literally and figuratively.
