I shot a music video on November 14th, 2009. Today is February 5, 2010 and my video is still not released. I had drama with the label not wanting to work with the original producer and the producer not wanting to give the masters over until a fair agreement was reached and the marketing plan didn't get delivered and the remix deal has to be negotiated and blah blah blahhhhhh. Fail. In all of this confusion. I totally forgot that I OWN MY VIDEO and I can put it out if I want.
So today I was advised by somebody who I really trust that if I wanna put out my video then that is what I should do. Legally I have a right to do it, and if it becomes nothing more than a great promotional item for me then OH WELL. When I shot the video I didn't even have a budget yet OR my business manager OR a label posturing to sign me. All I had was a lil bit of money that I saved up from doing commercials and a little bit of buzz on the internet. So why should all of those factors matter so much now??? I love my video, so many people worked so hard on it. Fuck being patient. My video drops today. Stay tuned.
