What my mom has to say about my record deal.

I called my mom a couple days ago and told her that I've got my first record deal. My deal has been in the works for the past few months, but I didn't want to say anything until I was certain that I was going to sign. Now that this is really happening, my mom is so excited. Over the past few days she got all nostalgic and stuff (she's such a mom) and started looking at baby pictures. This is an email that she sent me earlier, which included a scanned copy of a page from my baby book. LOL, right? My mom rocks.

(This is what my mommy sent)

Boo, I hope you like the photo from your Baby Book! You know how sentimental I am, I have been reading your Baby Book and Boo you were born a "Little Entertainer". It was in your blood and showed up at age one. I have photos of you playing the piano at one year old at Auntie Pat's house, plays you were in and all your "little" photo poses, you never just stood and smiled, you posed for every photo, even your Kindergarten Prom and so much more. I love you so very much and I am so very proud through God of you. I am so excited and happy for you babe, but you know that you can be your fans "Nikki Lynette", but to me you will always be my baby girl, my "Nikki Boo"!

Love, Success and Happiness to you always! Congratulations Again!

Nikki was quite a ham at the fashion show, she came out on stage, before she saw me, she started screaming onstage, "I want my mommy" when she saw me she could not do enough.

My mother, my siblings, and I have been through a lot. Together we endured my mom being abused by my dad before he got sober, homelessness when we had to live in battered women's shelters, poverty, and a lot of other drama. She got us through it all. My older sister was away at college for a lot of the time when my mom was working 17 hours a day just to support us, and my younger brother was too little to know what was going on. I witnessed firsthand everything she went through to make our lives better. Now my mom is really successful and financially comfortable, and she's my motivation for working as hard as I do. I love my mom. Glad I could make her proud.
