Nikki plus 10: Guess who's taking my new promo pictures?

Since I am releasing my single soon, the time has come to take some new promotional pictures. I know a lot of really awesome photographers, Chicago and New York are brimming with people who have an amazing gift for photography. However, since my single Don't Say No is the first song I ever shot a video for, this project is special to me. I want to make certain my new promotional pictures feel just right. Of course, because my partners/consultants, and my lawyer in New York all work for or with major labels, they know photographers who have shot celebrities and models and it would be no problem for me to shoot with those people as well. Its good to have options.
I've thought about this long and hard, and I've decided that I want to hire my friend 10 to shoot my photos. Yes, his name is the number 10. And he's bad ass. See for yourself.
When it comes to photography, my friend 10 is quite a visionary. He has a perspective and artistic vision that makes his pictures seem so full of energy. One look at
his website could make a believer out of anybody. He's bad ass. And he always manages to make me look awesome :o)
I first met 10 when I was working with Shala from The Movement. He'd shot some pictures of Shala, and since Shala and I were hanging out in my home that night, he invited 10 over. I've met a lot of photographers in my day (some less impressive than others,) so I wasn't expecting to be impressed. However, what I really love about his work is the way he's able to capture the culture of our scene in a picture. Its never just a portrait, its more like a moment frozen in time. When I look at some of his pictures, I almost get a feeling of being there. Maybe I'm being too artsy fartsy, but I just love his work. And the strangest part about all of this is that I made the decision on a crowded stage last night at The Wild Hare. (It was the weirdest, loudest location I've ever made a business agreement. LOL.) I'm glad to say he'll be the guy shooting my new promotional pictures... and maybe the cover for my upcoming album, too.
