Bears DE Shea McClellin: Natural Instincts And Non-Stop Motor

When the Bears selected Shea McClellin, analysts were quick to say that he was a reach at 19th overall and fans felt that the team had let the air out of the balloon as McClellin was someone they have not thought of. Here are a few highlights, while he was at Boise State.

McClellin, knows the expectations of playing for a franchise rich in tradition with legends on the defensive side of the ball. I'm sure he's also heard analysts and fans SMHing the pick and is ready to prove everyone wrong.

The only question I have is whether he can do what he did in college when he played against inferior athletes in second-tier conference. I won't question his 19 225 bench press reps, because it's not always about how many times a player can bench 225 pounds.

  • It's the "in Phil we trust" thing going on right now for me. I certainly dont have the resources or in depth knowledge of Emery and his group to make the picks he has, so like most others I'll be reserving my judgement to see how it plays out. McClellin obviously comes from "a winning program" albeit from a WAC team / schedule.. but you still got to play to have the success they did. I have a decent feeling of the first two picks, somehow I just think he (Emery) couldnt be that far off given the overview of the off season firing, his hiring and all the expectations that came with it, he looks like an intelligent man...waaaay more so than 'ol Ted, guess we'll see.
