Forte Is An Early MVP Candidate

matt forteGoing into the game against the Bucs, Matt Forte led the league in total yards from scrimmage with 908 yards. Check out what Forte has done this season:

  • 9th in NFL in rushing yards
  • 9th in carries
  • 6th in average
  • 4th in receptions
  • 9th in receiving yards
  • 0 fumbles

Against the Bucs, Forte rushed for 145 yards on 25 carries with a touchdown. He also had two receptions for 38 yards. Forte now leads the league with 1,089 yards from scrimmage, the first running back to reach the 1,000 yard mark in seven games since 2004 (Priest Holmes and Tiki Barber). Forte continues to prove that he is an elite back and is leading the Bears' turnaround.

If he continues to produces at this pace for the entire season, Forte will have to be in the conversation for an MVP nomination.

His production is also encouraging the #PayForte sentiment across social media. While Forte negotiations have stopped and he might not be extended during the season, he will get paid, eventually.
