Briggs tweets about contract situation and his demand for a trade

You may think he's selfish for demanding to renegotiate his contract and filing his for request to be traded, but for now, Lance Briggs (@55Berger) is still part of the team. While he hasn't talk to reporters about the distraction, Briggs tweeted away.

Frontloading his contract:

You front load your contracts because no one plays out their entire deal. So get the most in the front end and go back to the table with 2-3

Yrs left on ur deal. By that time ur either out playing or under performing. Its common place around the league.

The timing of his demand:

I wanted to wait til forte deal was done. But didn't know the 4th leader rusher in the nfl..still Not signed. I didn't make my decision overnight. And it was certainly not an easy one.

Being a Chicago Bear:

I'm still a bear...whether u hate me or not. I'm still gonna play hard and help this team win a it or not.
