Who Will Step Up To Be The Leader Of The Bears' Locker Room?

The Bears filled Olin Kreutz's void by signing former Seahawks center, Chris Spencer. A player will have to step up to fill his void in the locker room. With a shortened offseason and new players signed through free agency, someone will have to keep the locker room in order.

  • I think every team has leaders on each side of the ball. With the young offence the Bears have, I think Cutler will need to step up and be that guy or his unit. As far as defense is concerned, I think it's going to have to be guys like Urlacher and Anthony Adams. Most don't realize it, but Adams is respected a ton by those guys, on and off the field. The problem is that the offensive line desperately needs veteran leadership, within itself, that cannot come from Jay. Where’s that going to come from?

  • In reply to Adam Oestmann:

Yup. Totally agree Adam. Someone on both sides will have to emerge. Naturally, players will look to Cutler and Urlacher and you're right everyone seems to like and respect Adams. With Kreutz gone, someone will need to step up on the OL. Spencer seems to be an upgrade but he'll still need to learn his place on the team.

  • The returning rookies I will be taking a closer look as far as their leadership. D.J. I expect alot out of as well as Major Wright. I already expect Urlacher, Harris, Peppers & Co. to be the usual spectacular. Im looking for the younger players to impress me even more this season. They exceeded expectations last year and I am excited to see where they can take their game this season.

  • Very true Curtis... With Olin gone, next in line are vets like Urlacher, Peppers, Harris, etc. The younger players will have to step up as well. They're getting their chance so they better make the most of it.
