With the Packers losing to the Patriots tonight, the Bears can clinch the NFC North with a win over the Vikings. The Bears should not overlook a down Vikings team that will start their third string quarterback, Joe Webb. As we saw in the Patriots-Packers game anything can happen and the Packers gave the Pats a run for their money.
The Bears cannot overlook Vikings with the Jets and Packer up next. All three phases will need to make sure they put the Vikings away.
The Bears offensive line need to protect Jay Cutler. With an artificial turf that will be frozen and as hard as cement, losing Cutler for the game or for the season, to another concussion or an injury be a devastating blow as the Bears position themselves for the postseason.
The defense bottled up Adrian Peterson during their last meeting and will have do so again as he will be the main focus of the Vikings offensive game plan. They will need to force Webb into making dumb decisions and take advantage of them.
Devin Hester always plays well against the Vikings. I expect the defense to keep the Vikings offense in check so Hester will have plenty of opportunities to run a punt back for a touchdown.
The most important thing the Bears need to keep in mind is that they need to stay healthy as they will be playing on a frozen field. Fortunately enough, the Bears have stayed healthy for the entire season and when the Bears DO clinch, they are going to need to be at full strength to make a serious run in the playoffs.
