After getting knocked out of the game and quite possibly for the rest of his career (compliments of rookie, Corey Wootton), Brett Favre is now a Bears fan. Well, maybe not, but he will be rooting for the Bears to beat the Packers in the season finale.
Here's what he told Julius Peppers after Monday night's game:
"I talked to him after the game," Peppers tells Michael Wilbon of
ESPNChicago.com (via Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune). "I
told him it was an honor to play against him. He said, 'Likewise. . . .
Go beat the Packers in a couple of weeks.'"
As much as Favre tormented the Bears, I still have respect for him as a player. Especially in recent years as the Lovie Smith, Brian Urlacher and the Bears have had his number.
Against Lovie Smith, Favre was 2-6 as a Packer and 1-3 as a Viking.
Against Urlacher, Favre loses the rivalry 8-9. Both players have faced the most against each other in their respective careers.
Against the Bears, Favre has an all-time record of... I forgot and don't care to research this.
