The game against the Redskins is a must-win for the Bears.
The Bears need this win to separate themselves from the Packers and Vikings. The Packers are banged up but still dangerous and the Vikings look to be a team that could hit their stride by the time they face the Bears on November 14th. The Vikings' schedule looks to be a little easier in the second half compared to the Bears' schedule. The Bears will need the breathing room.
There are plenty of story lines that we should look forward to.
This will also be the first time Jay Cutler plays his former mentor and coach, Mike Shanahan. Check out the piece on Grizzly Detail, I'm a Star Wars fan so I got a kick out of it.
Both Mike Shanahan and Donovan McNabb are both from Chicago. McNabb played high school ball at Mount Caramel in the Catholic League, the toughest conference in the state. I went to Loyola Academy and know this for a fact.
Philip Daniels is a former Chicago Bear and his family still lives in the northern suburbs. He made the trip to Chicago a day early to watch his son play for his high school Friday night.
Lastly, Rex Grossman makes his homecoming (sort of) and expects plenty of boos. He was supposed to be our quarterback for the next decade but became just another name on the list of quarterback busts. To his credit, he did help the Bears get to the Super Bowl.
It should be an interesting game and the Bears need this one badly. I don't know if I could take another week of the gloom-and-doom fans crying on the radio and talking crap on Twitter.
