Knox emerging into big time player

When I talked to Johnny Knox over the summer, he said he said that he and the Bears wide receivers were out to silence the critics. In three games, Knox has 232 receiving yards and is gobbling up huge chunks of yards as he's averaging 21.2 yards per reception. This former 5th round draft pick, 140th overall is emerging into a big time player with big play ability and is outclassing the receivers that have been drafted before him.  From Larry Meyer's Chalk Talk

Johnny Knox (56 catches for 759 yards and 5 TDs) has outperformed both Darrius Heyward-Bey (19-264-1) and Michael Crabtree (54-706-2) to this point in their careers, even though Heyward-Bey and Crabtree were top 10 draft picks (seventh and 10th overall, respectively) while Knox was chosen in the fifth round of the 2009 draft. Knox was the 20th wide receiver selected last year. Of those players, he ranks sixth in receptions, is tied for seventh in yards and is tied for sixth in touchdown catches. Knox's stats are most similar to those of Raiders fourth-round choice Louis Murphy, who has seven fewer catches than Knox but exactly the same yards and TDs.
