Remember the disrespect the Bears got during the offseason? Even Bears fans were skeptical. Some of them still don't believe. I've been accused of drinking too much Kool Aid in the past and been labeled as a half-glass-full fan. Fine, I'll take that. I have no problem with these labels but at the same time, I'll say "I told you so", "drink the Kool Aid now and enjoy it" or "jump on the bandwagon".
The Bears made solid moves over the past couple seasons, including not firing Lovie Smith, that I thought would pay off eventually and so far it has.
Bears fans are starting to believe. Fans are getting excited. More fans are starting to join the 4th Phase. Last Monday, during the game against the Packers, the 4th Phase was credited in causing the Packers to commit 18 penalties. The #4thPhase hashtag on Twitter was blowing up during the game too, nearly 500 times, the most since I started it last season.
Yesterday, Darren Rovell, CNBC's Sports Business reporter, tweeted this:
According to SeatGeek.com, the Bears tickets are the highest in the secondary market, with an average of $256. I've always maintained this - The Bears have the most passionate fans in the NFL. They travel well, as we've seen in Dallas, can force visiting teams into making mistakes and are willing to pay top dollar to see their team in person.
