Expect big things from Devin Aromashodu

Devin Aromashodu came up big in the last four games of the 2009 season. This season, with the entire offseason to digest the newly-installed Mike Martz playbook and time to work with Jay Cutler, Aromashodu could be on the verge of a breakout season.

Devin Hester and Johnny Knox lined up with the first team offense during minicamp, but don't think Aromashodu will get lost in the system. Aromashodu has comparable speed to Hester and Knox and can also stretch the field. In addition, he has a size advantage over opposing corner backs, something that Hester and Knox don't have.

NFL.com fantasy football columnist Michael Fabiano thinks that Aromashodu is a fantasy sleeper. Fabiano points out that only Andre Johnson and DeSean Jackson scored more fantasy points among wide receivers than Aromashodu in the final four weeks of last season. Aromashodu averaged close to 10 targets per game. During the same span, in addition to his 22 receptions for 282 yards, his 4 touchdowns ranked second only to Dallas Clark, who had 5 touchdowns.

Last season, Cutler lobbied for more playing time for Aromashodu but didn't get it until the final quarter of the season. Although he may not be projected to start, expect plenty of production from Aromashodu this season.

  • Yet Shabba is not getting first team reps ... what are they playing at? Hester and Knox couldn't run routes or remember plays last year - it just got twice as hard. Shabba IS the #1, let's treat him like it.

  • True. I hope Mad Mike has a genius plan for him.
