Favre needs ankle surgery to play for Vikings in 2010

Bears Brown hits Vikings Farve in Chicago
It's about that time of year again...the Brett Favre watch is in full swing. Favre was almost certain to play again next season. Now, it looks like his future is seriously in doubt. The NFL's only (maybe first grandpa) needs ankle surgery to play for the Minnesota Vikings in the 2010 season. If I were him, I'd retire rather than have to face Julius Peppers twice a year.
In an email to ESPN:
"To play again, I would need the surgery, as I suspected. This decision would be easy if not for my teammates and the fans and the entire Vikings staff. One year truly felt like 10 -- much like Green Bay for many years. That's what I was missing in my heart I suppose, a sense of belonging.''
If Favre retires, this almost kills the Vikings' chance of winning anything until they get a real quarterback like Jay Cutler. Good luck with Tavaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels.
