I remember when I was a kid one food I absolutely refused to eat or even taste was fish. Although I was fine eating fish sticks, adding truth to the old adage that anything breaded is magnificent. I cannot imagine eating fish sticks again, blech.
Now that I am adult-ish I have taken a liking to fish. In fact I probably eat it 4 to 5 times a week. It is obviously low in carbs and good for you. So it fits my diabetic diet quite nicely. Salmon is of course my favorite, the steak of fish.
It is also easy to prepare and cook. Just throw some lemon pepper on it, pan fry each side for about 3 to 4 minutes and boom dinner is done. I actually told a kid over the weekend he should eat more fish. I saw the kid in my kicking adult me for suggesting such a thing.
One thing still remains though, hospital fish is never good. I tried to avoid it as much as I could. They make it dry and overcooked, pretty bad in my opinion. Nothing beats fresh fish so maybe one day I will learn to fish and carry on the traditional hunter and gatherer role of men of yore. Until then I will just fish at my local grocer.
