Prick it or ticket...or worse.

Do you check your blood glucose before you drive?   I try to remember to test before I drive and if I have a low I do not drive.  It is not something that we think about but in some cases DWD(driving while diabetic) can be just as bad as driving drunk,

If you are well under control then this is not a worry.  Though I think all diabetics should test before driving because it is best to be sure.  I remember once I was caught in traffic and started to feel a low come on.  I tested and sure enough I was low.  I was lucky to be close to an exit and went to a gas station and got some juice.  I then waited for my blood glucose to rise and waited in traffic again.

All states take driving with diabetes serious.  The laws are different everywhere.  I just got my license renewed a few weeks ago.  I had to bring a form filled out by my doctor and answer a series of questions related to diabetes.   I received rave reviews from the doctor and received my license with no problem.

So take the few seconds to test yourself, it is better than putting yourself and others at risk.  Plus you can lose your license if you cause an accident when symptoms of diabetes are present.
