A new reason to keep looking up.

New studies are showing that people with diabetes are living longer.  Of course this only pertains to people who are controlling their diabetes.  It makes sense though.   Diabetes means healthy eating, low carbs with a focus on fruits and vegetables.  Yes, and also exercise which is something I plan to do…eventually.

This is great news and gives hope to the hopeless.  When you feel low and times get tough, knowing that everything you are doing is ensuring that you will over stay your welcome here.  I know when I read the article it made me hopeful.  That I will get a chance to live to make up for the past and that even though it took 20 years my healthy lifestyle is going to pay off.

Nothing is promised in this life, just today, I am doing everything I can to make today matter.

Last night I performed a stand up gig and, though I only had a few minutes, I made the most of it and had the audience’s attention and heard the laughter.  It made my day.  I am living for tomorrow while appreciating the moment.  We spend our younger days longing for adulthood and our older days trying to hold on to youth.  We cannot get yesterday back and regret leaves with nothing but despair.

It is a struggle every day for everyone I wish I had done many things different but thanks to my healthier life I have a lot of time to make right with life.  I am meeting fate head on and taking control.

At the very least at the end of the world there will be cockroaches and at least one diabetic.
