Are you looking for something to get you in the Holiday spirit? Here are some of my favorite things to do this Holiday Season. Did I miss something? Please share your favorite places or traditions with me so I can add them to my calendar.
John Hancock Center, 875 N. Michigan Avenue
This year is the 40th anniversary of festivities at JHO. Winter Wonderland is open every day from Nov 1 to Dec 31 and Santa will be flying in every weekend from 12-4pm.
Winter WonderFest at Navy Pier
Our favorite winter extravaganza returns to Navy Pier. This is a 170,000 square foot festive holiday playground. Entertainment for the entire family includes indoor ice skating, rides, attractions, an indoor Ferris wheel and so much more. This event is open November 30, 2012 - January 6, 2013.
Macy's Holiday Windows & Walnut Room Tree
Macy's State Street, 111 N. State Street
I can remember sharing a holiday lunch in the Walnut Room with my grandmas every year since I was five. I can also remember visiting the holiday windows with my parents every year. This is a must tradition I am carrying out with my boys.
Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light
Museum of Science & Industry, 57th Street and Lake Shore Drive
The Museum halls will be decked, holiday singers and dancers will fuel the festivities, and the sparkle of dozens of decorated trees will greet you at this year’s Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light. This event is open November 25 through December 20.
Lincoln Park Zoo Caroling to the Animals & ZooLights
Come and celebrate the holiday season at the Christmas Caroling to the Animals event at the free Lincoln Park Zoo. Get in the festive mood and spirit during this Lincoln Park Zoo event with a two hour caroling session will allow you to tour the zoo while singing your favorite holiday tunes. You can also enjoy the beautiful lights display of the ZooLights. Caroling occurs on December 2 and the ZooLights shine brightly through January 6.
