Every morning, my nearly-teen listens to the radio while he gets dressed for school.
He is religious about checking the weather (and stocks) on his smartphone. At any point in the week he can tell you the weather forecast for the next 3-5 days -- highs AND lows.
Today it is supposed to snow from morning 'til night... with a high of 33 and a low of 21.
This morning he walked out of the house wearing a hoodie.
We no longer fight about dressing warmly. I realize that fight is based in the anticipation of embarrassment: "Someone will think I'm a bad parent/we don't have the means if my child isn't wearing a coat when it is clearly coat weather."
Whaaat-ever.
He's not a baby, he doesn't need the newborn blanket-burrito wrap. He has the knowledge and we have provided the tools. So yeah, we have let that go. If he won't listen to me -- maybe Mother Nature can reach him.
