In the last six months or so, Lucia has been obsessing with breasts and breast sizes, and I am not talking chicken breasts here, I am talking about boobies. It all started in Puerto Rico during the Holidays, when she saw a friend of ours and started screaming Don’t show your boobies!! in the middle of a restaurant because the woman had big breasts and showed some cleavage. As you can imagine I was both embarrassed and amused by my daughter’s observation.
A few months ago Lucia said and I quote, Mami, when I grow up I want to have BIG boobies! I just smiled and when I
was about to say something, she immediately interrupted me and continued with her statement by adding but not like your boobies, I want them really big, like Rosi’s. This time I was cracking up and immediately called Rosi to share Lucia’s special request. It was hilarious.
Every time I get undressed she always looks at them and points out how small (but pretty) they are and that she really wants to start wearing a bra with the big boobs that she will end up having. All I have to say is that big boobs do not run in the family so I guess that she is in it for a small (but pretty) surprise! Although nowadays with all of the breast enhancement procedures, I guess that she could get the boobs of her dreams so to speak; but I truly hope she just ends up being happy with whatever size she ends up having…Just like Mama (most of the time).
This morning, my three year old son starts a conversation with me. First, he touches my breasts and tells me:
Mami, you are so beautiful and you are older, right? When you are older you are supposed to have big boobies, right? Why are your boobies so small? Are you still small like Lucia?
Oh, Joaquin, no, no, Mami is all grown up now, I just happen to have small boobies, but they actually fit my size, honey.
(Joaquin’s puzzled expression)
……..OK, you have small boobies, Mami.
I just think it is hilarious how both of my kids are completely obsessed with big boobs and I wish I could say that it ended as a private family conversation but I wasn’t that lucky…Two weeks ago, my son Joaquin out of the blue asked my good friend Teri to show him her boobies! Yep, I guess that this is just the beginning of a whole-lot-of-boob talk! I can only imagine the teenage years. Ay Mama!
